Our highly skilled periodontist has advanced training in both laser and conventional soft tissue treatment services, including frenectomy and gingivectomy procedures. Frenectomy Treatment

A frenectomy is a simple soft tissue treatment performed to alleviate a “lip-tie” or “tongue-tie.” A frenum is the fold of tissue that attaches the upper lip to the gums and the tongue to the floor of the mouth. In some cases this attachment is too short or tight, and may prevent proper eating and speaking abilities. With a minimally invasive frenectomy, we can release this tissue to improve oral health, function and appearance.

Benefits of frenectomy soft tissue treatment include:

  • Improves biting, chewing and speaking functions
  • Allows for proper closure of mouth
  • Improves ability to wear dentures
  • Enables greater oral comfort
  • Eliminates gap between two front teeth
  • Enhances appearance and self-confidence
